The sister of Apollo in Greek mythology. She is the virgin goddess of the hunt, and is incredibly vengeful and merciless. Most of her time was spent away from Olympus hunting with her nymphs, returning with food at times of festivals.

A Buddhist goddess also known as Kishimojin. She used to eat others' children, but Buddha changed her ways. She eats pomegranates now, and is a goddess of parenting.

The aged jaguar goddess of midwifery and medicine in the ancient Maya culture. Despite her motherly nature, she was also seen as a fearsome warrior who devoured humans.

In native Hawaiian religion, Pele is the goddess of fire, lightning, dance and volcanoes. Because she shuns the rich and blesses the poor, children are often cautioned to treat strangers kindly, as they might be Pele in disguise.

The reincarnation of Sati, worshipped as a goddess of love. She is one of Shiva's wives in Hindu mythology, overcoming his asceticism. Hers is the primal life force, and she is the only one who can aid in opening Shiva's third eye.

A goddess who was first mentioned by Hesiod as a daughter of the Titans. Later, she became the goddess of the magical arts, associated with ghosts, crossroads, and demons. In the Late Classic period, her image was further demonized, as she began being depicted with three heads: a horse, a dog, and a lion.

Goddess of war, fertility, and sexual love, revered in ancient Mesopotamia. Capricious and proud, she seduced many men, often to their detriment, but the hero Gilgamesh spurned her, causing her to murder his best friend Enkidu. She was forcibly fused with the goddess Astarte to create Astaroth, but was freed by Aleph, the human messiah.

The goddess of time and change. Although sometimes presented as dark and violent, she is also revered as a nurturing mother. More complex Tantric beliefs sometimes extend her role so far as to be the "ultimate reality" or Brahman itself. Only Shiva has been shown able to calm her destructive outbursts that each threaten to destroy the universe.
